| Description of indicator | This indicator refers the death rate due to road traffic accidents defined as the number of road traffic fatal injury deaths per 100 000 population. As a result of studies to harmonize statistics on deaths in traffic accidents with the international standards, carried out in cooperation with the Directorate General of Security, General Command of Gendarmerie, Ministry of Health and TurkStat, deaths due to road traffic injuries within the thirty days following the accident became available as of 2015. Since there is a breakdown in series due to lack of coverage before 2015, data before year 2015 is not provided. |
