Description of indicator "This indicator represents the share of the value added generated by small-scale enterprises in the manufacturing industry sector within the total value added of the manufacturing industry sector. The Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE Rev. 2) has been used.

For small-scale enterprises, the definition is based on enterprises that employ fewer than ten annual employees and have either annual net sales revenue or a financial balance sheet total not exceeding ten million Turkish Lira.

It covers enterprises according to both the international size classification (fewer than 20 employees) and the national size classification (enterprises employing fewer than ten annual employees and with either annual net sales revenue or financial balance sheet total not exceeding ten million Turkish Lira).

Sample coverage The Annual Industry and Service Statistics survey is compiled by examining and analysing the administrative registers data of approximately 3 600 000 enterprises.

A number of questionnaires are applied to represent the sector from the enterprises operating in the sectors such as Foundation Universities, Vocational High Schools, Sports Clubs, Organized Industrial Zones, Metropolitan Municipalities, Water Administrations etc.
Sample size Approximately 185 enterprises are surveyed in a year
Interview method Annual Industrial and Service Statistics Investment Expenditures Survey field operation is done by web based electronic questionnaire. Social Security Institution’s Monthly Premium and Service Declaration and Turkish Revenue Administration’s Annual Declaration data are obtained by TurkStat from related administrative institutions.
