Description of indicator This indicator is calculated by dividing the value added created by the manufacturing industry by the gross domestic product value. It is calculated in both percentage and US dollars. Manufacturing industry value added per capita is also calculated as the ratio of manufacturing industry value added to the total population.
Manufacturing industry in part (C) of Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE Rev.2); food and beverage products, leather and textile products, chemicals, wood and paper products, metal products, electrical equipment,machinery, equipment, transportation vehicle, furniture, etc. covers the production of products.
