Description of indicator This indicator is calculated by dividing the number of working children by the total child population in the relevant age group. Number of working children; It includes those who work unpaid for at least one hour during the reference week (including interns and apprentices), profit or for the profit of the family, and those who have a job, who are not at work during the reference period for various reasons, but whose relations with their jobs continue.

Sample coverage Sampling frame is the National Address Database for Household Labour Force Survey. The sampling unit of the questionnaire is the address and the observation unit is the household. The survey is applied to private households in the non-institutional population. In the Household Labor Force Survey, the weekly (continuous) implementation required the creation of a new sample design. Two-stage, stratified cluster sampling method was used in the Household Labor Force Survey. Between two consecutive periods and in the same periods of two consecutive years, a rotation pattern was created to provide 50% overlap on the address basis, and 8 subsamples were used in each period. In the design of the study, the sample size to be applied in each period was distributed evenly over the weeks. As of 2014, the sample size of the survey is 44 000 households.

Since Child Labour Survey was conducted with households who were selected as sample under household labour force survey, the sampling design is naturally based on the sampling design relevant to the latter. The universe of the 2012 Child Labour Force Survey consists of all households in Turkey and, at individual level, all household members in the age group 6-17. Children in boarding schools, dormitories, childcare centres, reformatories, hospitals and prisons. 2019 Child Labour Force Survey was conducted in the IV. Quarter of 2019 (October-November-December) with the Household Labour Force Survey for 5-17 age group children. This research includes differences in terms of scope and methodology with the previously conducted Working Child Surveys. These differences are the arrangements in 2014 Household Labour Force Survey structure and the inclusion of the 5-17 age group on working child statistics of the International Labour Organization.
Sample size The sample size is the same as the HLFS since it is applied as a module to the Labor Force Survey.
Interview method Computer-assisted personal interview (CAPI)
Reference period for application of survey Quarter IV: October-November-December 2019
Field survey time and duration Quarter IV: October-November-December 2019
