Headline data

Target name By 2030, substantially increase water-use efficiency across all sectors and ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address water scarcity and substantially reduce the number of people suffering from water scarcity
Indicator name Change in water-use efficiency over time
Global / Proxy indicator Global indicator
Description of indicator This indicator is calculated by dividing the value added of a particular main sector (following ISIC 4 sector categories) by the water use of that sector which is expressed in USD / m3 over time. In this indicator, data on the volume of water used by each sector and the gross value added data of each sector from the National Accounts of TurkStat are used.
Unit US $/m3
Available disaggregation -
Calculation For the indicator, the efficiency value in each main sector is obtained by dividing the US dollar equivalent of the gross value added for each sector by the amount of water drawn in that sector in m3.
Comparability Comparable over time. Produced in full compliance with global metadata.
