Description of indicator This indicator is defined as the ratio of individuals in the age group of 16-74 using mobile phones in the last quarter (January-February-March of the relevant year) within the total population of this age group. Adult individuals between the ages of 16-74 are included in the study.

Calculations for the years 2018-2021 were produced in accordance with the definition expressed in the indicator. For 2022, "individuals using mobile phones" were calculated, not "individuals using mobile phones in the last 3 months".

Sample coverage Coverage persons: All private households who are living in the territory of Republic of Turkey are covered. Residents of schools, dormitories, kinder-gartens, rest homes for elderly persons, special hospitals, military barracks and recreation quarters for officers are not covered. also the residential places having less than 1% of populations are left out of coverage since it is thought that not be able to reach enough sample household number. Individuals aged 16-74 are covered.
All settlements in Turkey have been covered in sample selection.

ICT Usage in Households and by Individuals Survey is applied to sample households selected by a 2 stage stratified clustered sample. In first stage; in all areas in the frame is divides into clusters (blocks) of approximately 100 households each. These were selected as probability proportional to size (PPS). In the second stage; the sample addresses are determined from selected clusters (blocks) by using systematic selection method. Statistical Region Units Classification Level 1 is used as the stratification criterion. Turkey sum for age group 16-74 and Classification of Statistical Region Units Level 1 is designed to produce estimates based on the totals.

Interview method Computer-assisted personal interview method (CAPI) was used as data collection method until 2020, and computer-assisted telephone interview (CATI) method was applied in 2020 and after.
Reference period for application of survey The reference period is the first quarter of each year. The period between the reference period and the publication of data is 8 months.
Field survey time and duration The research is carried out annually in April.
