Description of indicator This indicator is used by young people (16-24 years old) and adults (16-74 years old) who can perform certain operations on computers, mobile devices or software in the last 12 months for the years 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, and in the last 3 months as of 2019. ) represents the ratio.

Calculation It is calculated by proportioning the persons with specified skills to the total individuals in the same age group. The 16-24 age group is calculated by proportioning the persons with specified skills to the total 16-24 age group and same is valid for the 16-74 age group.
Comparability Due to the changes made by the European Statistical Office in the questionnaire based on technological developments and needs, some questions are removed over time or new questions can be added to the survey. For this reason, there may be definitional differences according to years or some data are not collected after a certain year.

Other information Survey on ICT Usage in Households and by Individuals has been carried out since 2004 to obtain information related to ICT equipment and their usage by households and individuals. It is the main data source on ICT technologies and their usage.

Sample coverage Survey based on registers of National Address Database and Address Based Population Registration System. Data were collected from the households which were selected by defined sampling method. Statistical unit used is “household”.
Sample size Before 2011 its results were given by Turkey, urban and rural areas, after 2011 the survey is designed to provide estimates at the level of Turkey for a total of 16-74 age group and Statistical Regions Level 1 (SR Level1). Average sample size is 17 500 households.
Interview method Before 2020 for the purpose of data collection Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) mode had been carried out. After 2020 data collection has been transition to Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) mode.
Reference period for application of survey Reference period is the first quarter of the year.
Field survey time and duration The survey carried out in April of each year.
