Target name | By 2030, ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and secondary education leading to relevant and effective learning outcomes |
---|---|
Indicator name | Completion rate by level of education and sex |
Global / Proxy indicator | Global indicator |
Description of indicator | This indicator can be defined as percentage of a cohort of children or young people aged 3-5 years above the intended age for the last grade of each level of education who have completed that grade. |
Unit | (%) |
Available disaggregation | Education levels, sex |
Calculation | The number of graduates above 3-5 years of age, the target age who completed the last year of each education level, is divided by the population in that age group. The number of primary school graduates between the ages of 12-14, who are 3 years above the age of primary school graduation age, which is 9, is divided by the population between the ages of 12 and 14. Likewise, the completion rates were calculated considering the 16-18 age range for secondary school and the 20-22 age range for secondary education. Calculation has been made by excluding foreign population. |
Comparability | Since the 2012-13 academic year, 4 + 4 + 4 education system has been introduced. Since the primary education level is divided into primary and secondary school levels, no calculation has been made for this education level. Primary school graduates are included in the secondary school completion rate. |
