Headline data

This table provides metadata for the actual indicator available from Turkey statistics closest to the corresponding global SDG indicator. Please note that even when the global SDG indicator is fully available from Turkey statistics, this table should be consulted for information on national methodology and other Turkey-specific metadata information.

Target name By 2030, provide universal access to safe, inclusive and accessible, green and public spaces, in particular for women and children, older persons and persons with disabilities

Comparability Comparable over time - Produced in full compliance with global metadata.
Revision -
Other information In previous years, open data sources such as the Global Human Built-up And Settlement Extent (HBASE) Dataset and the Global Human Settlement Layer were used to define urban areas. Since 2022, in line with the urban-rural classification studies conducted by our institution, the Degree of Urbanisation (DEGURBA) methodology developed by Eurostat has been adopted. Based on this methodology, urban-rural classifications have been produced using 1 km² grids at the neighborhood and village levels. For this year, while calculating the indicator value, areas classified as “Intermediate Urban” and “Densely Urban” in the 2024 Population Grids were used as the urban area data.
Data source Data used as open sources are 1.Population Grids (2024, TURKSTAT) 3. OpenStreetMap (2025) 4- Provincial borders (General Directorate of Maps)
