Description of indicator The indicator reflects the number of persons effectively covered by a social protection system, including social protection floors. Effective coverage of social protection is measured by the number of people who are either actively contributing to a social insurance scheme or receiving benefits (contributory or non-contributory).

Other information a) Social Protection Statistics are compiled according to the ESSPROS standards which allows the comparability between the EU Countries, prepared by EUROSTAT.
b) In this indicator, only disability pension beneficiaries, old-age pension beneficiaries and survivors' pension beneficiaries are covered from TurkStat Social Protection Statistics.
c) Maternity Benefit, Number of people receiving Türkiye Family Support Program, Disabled Relatives' Pension, Needy Soldier's Family Aid, Needy Soldier's Child Aid, Orphan and Orphan Aid, Aid for Widowed Women, Number of Children Under Institutional Care (Child Homes/Child Homes Site etc.), Family Without Protection Data on the number of Supported Children, the number of Children in Foster Family Care, and the number of Children Cared for Free in Private Nursery and Day Care Homes were obtained from the Ministry of Family and Social Services.
d) Data on the number of people benefiting from the aid programs were obtained from the Integrated Social Assistance Information System database. Data on maternity benefits were obtained from database queries carried out by the Ministry's General Directorate of Information Technologies (SYGM).
e) Total capacity is calculated as the 3% of the total capacity of thePrivate Nursery and Day Care Homes and Children's Clubs by the Ministry.
